The Pantry Crest, The Pantry’s newest Hillcrest location, opened its doors in 2014. While you still get those delicious aromas from Czech and German food greeting you upon entry, you’re also met with a more hip, laid-back atmosphere.
Tomas Bohm opened the second location to not only meet demand, but also provide a suave place for drinks and eats. The eatery is the best place to meet friends or go on date as well as celebrate a milestone. If you’ve just seen a show at The Rep or taken in a concert, chances are you’ll still be able to grab a bite.
One of the best things about the spot is the consistency. Ever since opening their doors to foodies, the food coming out of the kitchen has been top-notch. The bar program has always been topnotch, including an original cocktail menu along with a fair mix of European beers alongside local and regional craft options.
When perusing the menu, be sure to try out dishes that include Hungarian Sausage and Bratwurst – as they’re housemade. Start with the locally well-sought-after Truffle Deviled Eggs or Bacon Wrapped Dates. You also can’t go wrong with the charcuterie, which includes pates made in-house and a fine selection of cheese and pickled offerings.
You’d be hard to find anywhere else in Rock City that offers such genuinely delicious cuisine items. The Crest doesn’t offer lunch, but is open Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. until Midnight with the bar often open even later.
